The COVID-19 quarantine is the perfect 👌 time to build up a healthier relationship with food and discover ways to make easy, affordable, nutritious, and delicious meals with shelf-stable product at home.

There's no way to fast-track a healthier immune system

Preparing meals together, even virtually, can have a positive effect on your well-being during time of social isolation.

When we get sick, much of the damage that occurs in the body is not due to the virus itself but to the body's immune response. Strengthening your immune system through multiple self-care channels _healthy diets, regular exercise and mental health care - is the most effective strategy.

Nutrition + Intention

The Mediterranean diet has been called the good standard of preventive medicine for its combination of anti-inflammatory and nutritious foods.

Two ways to achieve this include following The Mediterranean nutrition plan and practicing "intentional eating"

To get started,  recommend this six-step plan

1. Try to eat the rainbow 🌈 -- 5-6 servings a day if different coloured fruits and vegetables

2. Swap white grains (rice, flour, pasta) for whole-grain option

3. Eat legumes such ad beans, lentils.

4. Cook with olive oil and snack on nuts and seeds

5. Have meat just once a day or less. Replace red meat with fish or leaner options. Like chicken 🍗 or turkey.

6. Drink eight to ten glass of water daily.

So what kind of nutrition do you get❓

Following this eating pattern gives you a Zink, Iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin B6.
